Well I finally started my personal blog using wordpress. Here we go – another place set up to discuss things related to what I’m interested in, but this time it’s a blog with my own name attached, not my handle. JohnNWFS will remain a handle I use in many places, including Blogspot, Twitter, etc. So here I am – John Hoffer. Who am I and what do I do?
Let me tell you.
First and foremost I am a Husband and Father to three wonderful kids. As of this writing we have a boy of 10, and two girls 6 and 2. I work as a training professional at a large global coorporation in the Services area. I specialize in training tools implementation including LMS, CMS and Rapid eLearning development. A member of ASTD for the last several years I aspire to reaching an expertise level of delivering or contributing to an ASTD conference or project.
I am also an aspiring author, I dabble in arts and crafts and programming. However, so far I have not had anything published beyond a single poem in an everyone-gets-published-that-submits anthologies. Even if I do get “published” some day (in any of these areas) I plan on keeping this site. Maybe some day my original plan will work out – providing a place for not-yet-published individuals to post works that showcase their writing, painting, drawing or crafting Skills.
